Home and garden weddings are becoming increasingly popular not least due to the more challenging times we are experiencing.

Firstly and most importantly a garden wedding is fabulous! It most definitely is not the poor cousin to the big church or glamorous venue wedding. A garden wedding or a wedding at home is a beautiful and intimate wedding which is all about a couple‘s love for one another and their wish to share their day with the people who are closest to their hearts. It is in a place that is meaningful to you and provides a relaxed and intimate place to celebrate your wedding day.

Having your wedding at home has so many advantages other than just being budget friendly! It puts YOU in control! You can choose the date, the timing, catering, decor and a whole host of other decisions that put you firmly in charge!

Oh heck where do we start? How do we arrange a wedding at home? 

Well the short answer is that it depends on how simple or extravagant you wish your day to be. Runaway Irish Weddings can arrange either part or all of your wedding day. We are small wedding specialists providing weddings for up to 40 guests. The setting you create will be a reflection of you both and the mood or theme you want to create for the day The following are services we can arrange.

The Legal Wedding Ceremony

First things first, it is important to understand that unless you obtain a temporary venue licence from your local Registrar you cannot have a Registrar marry you and it is difficult to have a religious wedding at home but there are great options,  an independent celebrant or humanist celebrant provide unique weddings. The most important thing to check is that they are accredited and can carry out legal weddings here in Northern Ireland.

Humanist celebrants can create wonderful bespoke weddings written for each couple. The ceremony will reflect a couple’s relationship, personality and wishes. Humanist celebrants can be found at www.humanism.org

Wedding Hire 

We will discuss you vision or theme and together create your day.

We can help to create a seasonal weddings, themed weddings (midsummer, romantic, boho, festival)

All hire includes setting up and clearing our own property away after your wedding. 

Seating for the ceremony including beautiful couple’s seating 

Ceremony decor including wedding arches, lanterns, floral decor, garlands, trees and props

Signage

Reception 

Tables, chairs, linen, table centre pieces 

Crockery, glassware, candles, candelabras 

Furniture and lighting 

We can provide comfy sofas, chairs and cushions. To complete the mood for your reception we can also provide rugs, lamps and plant

Garden Furniture and garden marquee 

Catering 

We work with several local caterers and this can be included in your package price.

Canapés, wedding meal, gourmet dining, BBQ and evening supper 

Wedding cake - we can arrange cakes including traditional, naked, croque en bouche or macaron 

Mobile bar, fun mobile bar with glasses and cocktail equipment 

Bar and table staff (please note you must not sell alcohol without licence and it is recommended you buy alcohol on a sale or return basis from local supplier or supermarket)

 Florists, photography and videographers can all be sourced at preferential rates

Celebrant

Ann Pinkerton  is a humanist  celebrant  who can provide a unique and bespoke legal ceremony at your home or chosen location - think beaches, forests, or local beauty spot!
